This weekend Boo, Owl, Bunny, I ,and one of my best friends,Lisa, whom I consider a sister ran away on an adventure. We road tripped it to a little town in Missouri called Carthage. It’s a beautiful little town with so much to offer; antiques, shopping, historical tours, and Precious moments chapel.
Precious moments chapel was built by an artist by the name of Butcher. He hand painted the hundreds of paintings that reside in the chapel.
The girls and I were able to appreciate fabulous works of art that depict both the Old and New Testaments.
In the gift shop I fell in love with one particular piece by Butcher. Art doesn’t usually “speak” to me in anyway. I generally have horrible taste, if any at all. But I think I scored on this one.
It’s called Life’s A Joyous Ride.
I placed it on my dresser so I can see it first thing every morning. I know it will remind me, just like the title says, that life truly is a joyous ride.
All too often I get caught up in the small things, bills, laundry, meeting deadlines; and I forget to really enjoy the big things, like friends, family, fellowship, and nature.
This weekend trip made me realize I don’t want to miss my Joyous Ride. I want to fully embrace it for what it is.
If you are ever near Carthage, Missouri it is a must see!
