A Book Review; Torch By Cheryl Strayed

I recently finished reading Torch By Cheryl Strayed. This book did not leave me wanting more. It was beautifully written, in a very raw nature. It was one of the only books that I have ever read that made me feel like the story was complete.

The novel starts out introducing the characters of a family from a small town in Minnesota. The young 38 year old mother is diagnosed with aggressive cancer and the story unfolds of her son, daughter, and common law husband, and thier lives after she inevitability succumbs to her illness.

This is a story that made me evaluate my own life and relationships with myself and my family. I was easily able to identify with these characters and that made them seem all the more real.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of happy, predictable stories and is looking for a dose of honest and poignant reality.
