Flashs cut looks better yet this morning. I am pleased with how it is healing. She is still a little tender so I left well enough alone after I got it cleaned and new salve put on it.
Silly girl was nickering at 0500 this morning. Presumably asking where her hay and oats were. She is anxious to get back to the herd, she stands by thier adjoined fence and calls for them. They usually oblidge her and come stand near her so they can pick at each other through the fence. Herd life amazes me! They are definitely loyal to her.
Until next time!
This is one of my favorite recipes to make for breakfast! Especially in the winter time because the stove heats up the room!
Oven made Biscuit and Egg Sammich!
I make my own home made biscuits, but you could also use a premade biscuit like these:
My recipe for the best biscuits ever….OK well they are really rolls but they are great for this!
For the eggs you will need to:
1. Preheat oven to
2. Chop small onion. (I have also used green pepper! You can really add anything you want to these!)
3. Put in large mixing bowl, add salt and pepper to taste, crack a dozen eggs. Whip.
4. Grease muffin tin with butter.
5. Pour batter into muffin tin.
6. Cook until done. Usually takes about 20 minutes for the eggs. It is sometimes hard to time my biscuits and eggs. But I usually make my bread before hand since it stays warm nicely….and eggs…. Well they just dont! 🙂
7. Assemble egg on biscuit. (I also add cheese)
Good morning! It is a beautiful snowy day on the HK Bar! Flashs cut on her face looks much better! I cleaned it up with some alcohol and put some salve on it. She hated it! She kept sticking her nose to the sky…….typical baby!
Today we did a ton of grooming! She was filthy! Such is pasture life. She did great, but was a bit Leary of me touching her face. I think she is a bit sore.
We also did a touch of lead training in the little pen, but no more than 10 minutes. Great as always!
Now to just get her healed up……again….and the weather to straighten out!
I tell you what my two pups are so comical together. This was a picture of them during our after work run. It is currently 25°F and as you can see we have a dusting of snow. And oh the wind! Enough to freeze your face in a short few minutes. Bullet and Blitz did not even seem to notice the cold.
They were both saints during our chores this morning. I was so pleased with both of them. I didn’t have to call Bullet off even once. She did her job quietly and respected the horses. She is getting so reliable, and I am so very proud of her!
Blitz continues to be on the lead when we are around the livestock. And he still drags it during thier free run time. This way I can get ahold of him easier if need be. His recall needs work, but he is improving already. He doesn’t seem to miss much and is always watching what is going on around him. He has almost perfected sit. Wahoo!
Until next time!
I forgot how hard raising babies can be. They are always getting themselves into trouble. This far Flash has scared me with a swollen leg, a cut by her eye….and now, a cut by her mouth. I wasn’t able to get a great look at it, but it doesn’t look too bad. Maybe a tad swollen. The only thing I am thankful for in this cold weather, it helps with the swelling and lessens infection. I will continue to watch it and see that it doesn’t get worse. Until then will put a call into the Doc for antibiotics.
Needless to say with the weather and the presence of a new injury we didn’t have a lesson. Just lots of love scratches and feed. I will probably be bringing Flash back into the barn so I can get a look at that cut and keep her monitored.
Until next time!
