Flash and I started school early today. She stands at her feeder awaiting her breakfast every morning now. She knows our routine well.
We started with the mane and tail brush. Flash was quiet and would try to lean in when I did her forelock …..she was pleading with me to scratch her ears! I have never had or known a horse that loved this so much. So of course I finished her mane and stood scratching her ears for a good ten minutes. This will make it so easy to slip a bridle on her when the time comes.
Next came the metal curry for all those mud spots. Flash loves to roll….in the mud….and get completely filthy. So we curried for several minutes. Up under her belly, down her legs, everywhere there was mud….which was really EVERYWHERE!
We skipped lead training this morning. I’ll work on that this afternoon when I turn her out to the Little Big pasture. I’m having to pen Easter while Flash gets out to stretch her legs. She has proved to have it out for Flash. And I am not taking any chances with either of them.
So we just did more love scratches and bonding. ❤
Until next time!
