After the trying incident of Romeos leg being caught in the fence, I came back to the horse barn and Flash and the little herd were waiting for me. I swear this girl can read my emotions! She called out to me with a welcoming, happy whinny.
I fed them . Also had to bucket water into the horse tank because hubby let the hose freeze. Not such an easy task with a 50 gallon tank and two five gallon buckets. Ugh! But I enjoyed the workout, and soon enough Flash was slurping fresh water from the tank.
We didn’t do any training today. Just lots of love scratches and a quick brushout out. While brushing Flash, all I could think was how being thirty feels, and how Flash and I have so much to look forward to.
I think in a way Flash is my midlife crisis. She’s my big life project, my happy place, and a place to channel my energy and attention. I’m so thankful for her.
