    • She is about ten days to two weeks old. Several things can cause death, but in this case we believe it was a twisted gut. 😦 which can sometimes be treated if caught. This little girl is a tough one! My husband found her still drinking from the udder of deceased mama. So sad!

      • Oh, that is sad in its most primal way. The pull to live is a strong one and I hope this baby makes it.
Can I ask a morbid question now? What do you do with a dead cow? Can you eat it? I hope that is not an offensive question. I don’t know anything about what you do and find it fascinating!

      • We call a collection company that uses the meat for dogfood. It’s not usually able to be used for human consumption due to blood settling in the meat. I don’t think that is an offensive question at ALL! Farm and ranch people are usually very open to questions! Ask anything! 🙂
